Vitamin B12 is essential for the body because it enables lipids, proteins, and carbohydrates.  It is also important for the production and regeneration of red blood cells.  Many take B12 because it is good for energy levels and improves short term memory, concentration, and physical balance.  Deficiencies in B12 result in body odor, heart palpitations, and anemia.  Vitamin B12 is found in cheese, milk, and other dairy products.

Vitamin C has wide array of benefits.  Perhaps it is best known for its usefulness in fighting against the common cold.  It is also good for lowering cholesterol, decreasing the possibility of blood clots, preventing infections, and speeding up recovery after surgery. It has to be obtained through other sources.  Foods with Vitamin C include all citrus fruits, berries, potatoes, tomatoes, cauliflower, and leafy vegetables.

Vitamin D allows the body to utilize phosphorous and calcium. Tooth decay, osteoporosis, and rickets are known results of Vitamin D deficiency.  Foods containing Vitamin D include all dairy products and fish foods like salmon, tuna, and sardines.

Vitamin E is one of the best vitamins for energy and anti-aging because it helps oxygen to reach all cells of the body easily. It also helps to prevent blood clots and has been known to be helpful in the treatment of burns. Vitamin E deficiency includes red blood cell destruction and muscular atrophy. Foods that contain Vitamin E are whole grains, soybeans, whole grain cereal, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and spinach.

It is possible to get all of the vitamins you need by eating a healthy diet but supplements, along with a well-balanced diet will certainly enhance the youthful and healthy lifestyle every human being longs for as they approach middle age and beyond.

As they say, take one a day or whatever the recommended dose is and eat healthy!!  That youthful and healthy appearance may just shine through.
